Trient : Concert de chants orthodoxes de Noël à la bougie [EN]

Concert of Orthodox Christmas carols by candlelight, at the Church of Trient - Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 4:30 pm.

In the run-up to Christmas, the Church of Trient offers a moment of suspension and light. The Yaroslavl Choir, an ensemble from Neuchâtel specializing in Orthodox chant, will present an evening of sacred and popular songs performed by candlelight.

These Advent and Nativity songs, from the traditions of Ukraine, Romania, Greece, Serbia and Russia, will be performed by twenty-four choristers, including several professionals. Their a cappella interpretations invite you on a journey to the heart of Eastern sacred song, between fervor, contemplation and human warmth.

The evening will be enriched by the oriental sounds of percussionist François Clavel, adding a poetic and exotic touch to this immersive experience.

The Yaroslavl Choir, founded in 2008, has established itself on the Swiss and international scene thanks to its faithful interpretation of Orthodox vocal traditions. It has performed at numerous festivals, abbeys and cathedrals, and has four recordings to its credit.
