Join us on March 26 at 8:00 pm at the Caves du Manoir for the screening of Howl (2010), followed by the presentation of Domestiques photogéniques.
Howl :
Directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman
The film portrays a free spirit and explores the fate of an avant-garde poem considered scandalous in its day. In 1957, the publisher of Allen Ginsberg’s Howl was sued for obscenity for publishing the radical, poetic text.
A work of rare intensity, Howl expresses a cry of rage that tears the space between beauty and mire, desire and distress, present and past. This film pays tribute to freedom of expression and celebrates the subversive power of poetry.
Photogenic Domestics:
Five poems from an invitation to write issued by the Société des écrivains valaisans, inspired by the exhibition Domestiques photogéniques, presented at the Médiathèque-Valais – Martigny.
In collaboration with Cellules Poétiques.
