Gueuroz bridge

The Gueuroz Bridge is a reinforced concrete arch bridge located in Vernayaz. Between 1934 and 1963, it was the highest bridge in Europe.

The old Gueuroz Bridge is a reinforced concrete arch bridge located between Martigny and Salvan, crossing the Trient Gorges at a height of 187 m. It was built in 1934 and was the highest bridge in Europe for 29 years. It is now closed to road traffic but remains accessible to pedestrians and cyclists.

The new Gueuroz Bridge was built in 1994 alongside the old bridge. It was constructed in such a way as not to obscure the architecture of the old bridge.
