Spring meadow saffron trail

To visit the village of Branson is an exceptional experience. The wonderful contrast of mazots (small wooden agricultural buildings) and modern homes helps preserve the historic character of the place.

Following this path, you will cross the picturesque protected village of Branson, which is built directly on the rock. You can stroll through a chestnut forest, as well as passing through the rich steppes. At the beginning of the year, you will be able to witness the spectacular display of spring meadow saffron (bulbocode). Valais is the only canton in Switzerland where the flower grows on the sunny slopes. It’s very short flowering period begins when the snow starts to melt. You will also be able to appreciate many other flowers that brighten this trail throughout the year.
