The Vernissage will take place on 26 June: Meet at 5.55 am for the sunrise concert in conjunction with the Festival des 5 Continents, followed by a coffee and croissant. The trip by small train to the Château de la Bâtiaz will take place at 8.30 am, leaving in front of the manor house.
This art project entitled Tinctoria offers a reflection on colour in relation to place, its history and its memory. By imagining the various flags that once flew in the vicinity of La Bâtiaz Castle, a strategic site that controlled the passage of the Great Saint Bernard, the artist invites us on a journey into the past. His project focuses on the use of plants with colouring properties, all of which are native to Valais and were used in the region in the Middle Ages. Photographed in the medieval garden of Saillon and then digitally overlaid with a painting inspired by it, the visual result reveals an image with elusive depths and textures.
