Into Our Arms – Sur Un Malentendu Collective
Through the journey of Alice, half Kabyle, half Norman, an intimate story unfolds, marked by the major events that shaped her era: September 11, the war in Iraq, and the shock of the 2002 French presidential election. All these moments make up what she calls “her Grand History of Racism.”
A few years later, as she nears the end of her studies, Alice reunites with Mad, her best friend from childhood, who has returned from Mali. Having grown up in France, he can no longer bear having to go through the endless bureaucratic hurdles to obtain temporary residence permits.
An unexpected decision then becomes necessary: a sham marriage. A way to help a friend facing an absurd bureaucratic situation, but also to test a commitment and symbolically bring an end to adolescence.
With gravity, humor, and mischief, *Jusque dans nos bras* turns friendship into an act of resistance and explores how personal stories unfold within the context of larger historical events.
