Concert: Vintage acoustic blues

The Shimmy Shakers will be performing live with a repertoire of acoustic blues sounds inspired by the 1920s and 1930s.

Hailing from the blues scene in French-speaking Switzerland, the Shimmy Shakers draw inspiration from the roots of pre-war blues, incorporating jazz influences. Drawing on styles such as rural blues, Piedmont blues, country blues, jump blues and swing, the band originally formed as an acoustic trio in 2024 before evolving into a quartet. This expanded line-up broadens their sonic palette with the addition of a mandolin and a resonator guitar. Their musical world, both authentic and energetic, features compositions and performances imbued with sincerity, evoking the atmosphere of the juke joints and honky-tonks of that era.
