In the heart of the Southern Cone, Uruguay is characterised by its vast plains and deeply rooted rural traditions. In Tacuarembó, a veritable sanctuary of gaucho culture, the Ballet Rumbo Norte was founded in 2011. Under the direction of Professor Alvaro Cuello Rosano, this project was born out of a clear ambition: to capture the essence of Uruguayan folklore and bring it to the biggest stages.

Now the country’s leading folklore school, with over a hundred dancers, Rumbo Norte has established itself as an institution. Winner of prestigious national awards and a notable finalist on Got Talent Uruguay, the troupe embodies the revival of a proud national identity, deeply rooted in its heritage and resolutely committed to professional excellence.
