As part of the Passeport Vacances program, L’Épicentre, in collaboration with the Valais – Martigny Media Library, is offering a guided tour of the exhibition *Estivages: The Alpine Pasture Season in Switzerland* by photographer Romano Riedo.

Have you ever wondered what happens up there in the mountains when the cows head off for the summer?

Romano Riedo, a photographer from Fribourg, has spent nearly 20 years climbing up to the Swiss alpine pastures to photograph the lives of those who work there: herders, cheesemakers, and mountain farmers. His most beautiful images are brought together in the exhibition *Estivages. The Swiss Alpine Pasture Season is on display at the Valais–Martigny Media Library.

Between time-honored traditions and modern machinery, you’ll discover all the facets of this tradition—so precious that UNESCO designated it a cultural treasure of humanity in 2023!
