The 225th edition of the Foire au Lard will be held on Sunday, December 6, and Monday, December 7, 2026!

Since 1801, the Foire au Lard has been held every year in the streets of Martigny Bourg in early December.

The Foire au Lard in Martigny-Bourg is an iconic event that delights locals and visitors alike every year. Nestled in the heart of a picturesque neighborhood, this fair is a true celebration of tradition and local cuisine.

From the first light of dawn, the narrow streets fill with a joyful buzz. The colorful market stalls overflow with local products, showcasing the richness of our culinary heritage. Pork, of course, takes center stage—whether smoked, salted, or made into sausages—each variation promises authentic flavors.

But the Foire au Lard is not just an ode to cured meats. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate togetherness, with musical performances, traditional dances, and games for young and old alike. Residents gather to share moments of joy and strengthen the bonds that are the strength of the Martigny community.

Every year, La Grange à Émile—a charming, rustic building—is transformed into a pop-up museum. The Foire au Lard thus serves as the kickoff for a temporary exhibition.
