From June 20 to September 6, 2026, the Ganioz Project Space (GPS) at the Manoir de la Ville will host the ERRATIQUE exhibition by Collectif LACS.
ERRATIQUE explores the relationship between memory, territory and disappearance. Drawing on the changing landscapes of the Alps, the exhibition examines the disappearance of glaciers, both as an ecological phenomenon and as an alteration to the narratives, beliefs and imaginaries that structure these territories.
At the heart of this reflection is the Alpine legend of the Procession of the Dead. According to this tale, souls travel up valleys, rivers and streams against the current, crossing mayens to reach the glaciers, considered places of rest, passage or purgatory. Long perceived as eternal, these glaciers constituted a threshold between worlds, a liminal space between the living and the dead. Their gradual disappearance involves much more than a transformation of the landscape: it also affects the narratives that symbolically inhabited these spaces.
Opening on Friday June 19, 2026 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, in the presence of the artists.
