Join us for a “Ma petite reine” slam poetry night on Friday, September 4, 2026, starting at 6:30 p.m. – L’Échappée Bike Shop.
The “Gravé dans mon carnet” collective , a group of slam poets from Valais, invites you to its first slam night in Martigny, in collaboration with L’Échappée Bike Shop.
Slam poetry is an invitation to write and perform. You don’t need to be an
experienced writer: anyone can take the stage and share a text they’ve written
themselves, in a spirit of kindness and freedom.
The evening will be hosted by Laszlo and Wicky, who will guide the audience through thewriting workshop and open mic session.
Writing Workshop – 6:30 p.m.
The evening will begin with a writing workshop lasting about an hour on the theme “My Little Queen.”
On the agenda: a few theater exercises to get you started, games to stimulate creativity, and writing exercises to help you craft a piece.
Whether you’ve never written before or are a regular at workshops, this is the perfect opportunity to find inspiration and, why not, walk away with a piece to recite during the evening.
Pay what you wish: everyone gives what they want—or nothing at all.
Open Mic – 7:45p.m.
Starting at 7:45 PM, it’s time for open mic!
You can step up to the mic to share a piece you’ve written. It can have been written during the workshop, prepared in advance on the theme “My Little Queen,” or even be completely off-topic.
To participate, simply drop your stage name into the hat at the start of the evening. Performance slots will then be drawn at random.
A few simple rules: a piece you’ve written yourself, a maximum of 3 minutes per piece, no props or musical accompaniment, and above all, kindness.
Whether you want to take the stage or just listen, everyone is welcome!
The evening will end no later than 10 p.m.
