Join us on Saturday September 6, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, for an open-air listening session in the Manoir gardens.
Under the bandstand in the Manoir gardens, join Pierre Leguillon and Pierre-André Perrin for an open-air listening session, followed by Mathias C Pfund’s talk on Erik Satie.
Pierre Leguillon (Musée des Erreurs, Brussels) and Pierre-André Perrin (Musée du Son, Martigny) propose a listening session of 78 rpm records under the bandstand in the gardens of the Manoir de Martigny. Using historic gramophones from the Musée du Son’s collections, they present an unusual program combining ambient noises, animal songs, sound curiosities and rare extracts. The program echoes the erratum musical exhibition, featuring ready-to-hear recordings of Satie’s Parade, Cathy Berberian’s Stripsody and a memorable performance by Florence Foster Jenkins. The encounter continues at the Musée du Son, where Mathias Pfund unveils a sculpture inspired by the piano keyboard and evokes the quirky world of Erik Satie.
Schedule: 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
