Fondation P. Gianadda: Léonard Gianadda sur les Traces de Tintin

From July 12 to November 19, 2024, follow Léonard Gianadda in the footsteps of Tintin. A pictorial tour of the world, to be discovered through the eyes of these two globetrotters.

In partnership with the Musée Hergé, the Fondation Pierre Gianadda presents, in the Galerie du Foyer, vignettes from The Adventures of Tintin and photographs by Léonard Gianadda. More than eighty images, arranged in parallel in seven chapters (United States, Europe, Egypt-Tunisia, Countries of the Soviets, Mediterranean, South America, Africa), bring the photographer’s eye into close dialogue with situations drawn by Hergé.

When Léonard was working on the reports that took him to the four corners of the world between 1953 and 1961, the Adventures of Tintin were still very present in his memory, if not running in parallel. With his Rolleiflex and Leica, he immortalized landscapes, scenes and characters that seemed to come straight out of Hergé’s albums.

Thanks to this surprising encounter between the two globetrotters, this exhibition reveals a whole new side of Leonardo. It happily revives forgotten journeys and memories, reminding visitors of the ties they themselves have forged with Tintin.
