The opening of Ariane Monod's exhibition will take place on Saturday October 25 at the Fondation Louis Moret.
“This autumn, Ariane Monod’s abstract and evocative art is on show for the first time at the Fondation Louis Moret, with a selection of recent works and a vast mural drawing. Her lyrical power invites us into an exhibition that is both immersive and introspective.
“Ariane Monod’s work, both mural and painted, is punctuated by the void, as conceived by Chinese aesthetic thought.
In her art, the void is not something non-existent, but a dynamic element, a place of transforma on and transi on. It’s a suspended moment, like when one
of lightning and thunder as we wait for the light to break, or when we watch the hypnotic coming of the clouds as we anticipate the storm.
During these floating moments, both visual and emotional, the body quivers and the mind flies free.
Is this also the basis of abstraction? To mark a suspension in reality and achieve a form of deliverance?”
