Christian Zacharias bids farewell to the piano and gives a final solo recital in Martigny.
The Pierre Gianadda Foundation, in partnership with the Zermatt Music Festival & Academy, welcomes Christian Zacharias for the second subscription concert of the 45th musical season, on Thursday, September 8 at 8 pm.
Christian Zacharias will perform Franz Schubert’s Sonata in G major D 894 followed by Piotr Illich Tchaikovsky’s Seasons cycle op. 37a. Schubert was a natural choice,” he told me. The author of the Trout is not only one of my favorite composers, but he is also one of the few who have accompanied me throughout my career as a pianist. This Sonata in G major, D 894, was already included on his first CD, released in 1976 on vinyl, which greatly contributed to his reputation.
Don’t miss this “farewell recital” whose accents will still resound in our ears and hearts.
