For six years, the filmmakers lived and traveled alongside the Yenish, criss-crossing Europe as far as Graubünden. Their otherness as “gadjo” filmmakers and their ignorance of the Yenish way of life clashed with the frank words of this stigmatized and largely unknown popula- tion. Over time, relationships of trust are forged, leading to changes in mutual perceptions.
With accuracy and empathy, the film offers an intimate look at this nomadic community, marked by the wounds of the past and longing for freedom.
An impressive documentary road movie that plunges us into the heart of the stories of the various protagonists.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with Steve Gerzner, representative of the Yenish community.
