A one-of-a-kind concert and performance at the Espace Consonance in Saxon featuring Stéphane Lambiel, world figure skating champion, and Lionel Monnet, an international concert pianist.

Stéphane Lambiel will indeed take the stage for a floor dance performance in a duet with pianist Lionel Monnet. This exclusive collaboration will mark a major turning point for the two-time Swiss world champion, who will swap the ice for dry land to fully explore floorwork set to Lionel Monnet’s magnificent music.

This project builds on Stéphane Lambiel’s passion for the freedom of physical expression offered by the floor—a world he particularly loves outside the ice rink.

Stéphane Lambiel is one of the most iconic and charismatic figures in the modern history of world figure skating. Nicknamed “the Little Prince of the Ice,” the Swiss skater made his mark with a unique style: extraordinary musicality and legendary spin speed in his spins, considered by experts to be the most beautiful and fastest of his generation.

An exceptional record of achievements

Two-time consecutive World Champion in 2005 (Moscow) and 2006 (Calgary).
Olympic silver medalist at the 2006 Winter Games in Turin.

Lionel Monnet is one of the most renowned Swiss pianists of his generation. He won first prize at the Rotterdam International Music Competition. He performs at the most prestigious classical venues, such as the New York Festival, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Jerusalem Center. Last year, he performed at the Verbier Festival’s Opening Concert. He plays with international soloists such as Renaud Capuçon, Gérard Caussé, and Michel Dalberto. Notably, he has performed for Gérard Depardieu.

These two artists share deep, common roots. Both are originally from Isérables and also hail from Saxon.
