Attend screenings at "Le Corso" cinema of "La Passion Van Gogh", directed by Dorota Kobiela, running time: 1H35.
Description:
Paris, summer 1891, Armand Roulin is asked by his father, the letter carrier Joseph Roulin, to hand-deliver a letter to Vincent van Gogh’s brother, Theo. The news of the painter’s suicide had just broken. Armand, not thrilled with the friendship between his father and the artist, is not exactly thrilled with his mission.
In Paris, Van Gogh’s brother is nowhere to be found. The young man learns from Père Tanguy, the painter’s color dealer, that Theo, visibly devastated by the disappearance of his elder brother, survived him by only a few months. Realizing that he has probably misjudged Vincent, Armand travels to Auvers-sur-Oise, where the painter spent his last months, to try to understand his desperate gesture.
By interviewing those who knew the artist, he discovers how surprising and passionate his life was. And how much of his life remains a mystery.
