Fish Market: between Balkans and folk, to be discovered at Charratmuse on May 10 at 5:00 pm.
The Fish Market quartet invites audiences on a vibrant musical journey to the crossroads of cultures. Led by British accordionist Faith Elliott-Ristic, a respected figure in Serbian Roma music, the ensemble brings together artists from a wide range of backgrounds: Viljo Busch (violin), a Swiss-Swedish musician, Frank Powlesland (guitar and banjo), originally from England, and Léa Rovero (bass), a musician from Neuchâtel.
Formed in 2024, the group subtly blends Romanian and Serbian traditions with influences from their own roots. Their repertoire crosses borders and styles: playful Romanian dances, emotionally-charged Roma songs, Swedish harmonies, revisited Breton rhythms, Serbian kolo, gypsy jazz and touches of bluegrass and Irish folk.
