"Cygnes Noirs," presented by Les Niaiseuses, will be performed on September 24, 25, 26, and 27 at Les Caves du Manoir.
Les Niaiseuses present “Cygnes Noirs,” a play by Kristina Kattering, translated from German by Charlotte Bomy and directed by Lionel Fournier.
Cast: Christine Fournier and Aline Monsciani-Carrupt.
The play features two sisters facing a difficult decision: whether or not to place their mother in a nursing home. Against the older sister’s advice, the younger sister chooses to take their mother into her home, but quickly finds herself overwhelmed by the situation.
To help her, the older sister purchases a humanoid robot named “Rosie,” specially programmed to care for their mother. While the younger sister’s problems seem to be solved for the time being—she regains some time for herself as their mother’s condition improves—Rosie gradually takes on an increasingly prominent role in family life. What was initially seen as a relief gradually turns into a threat…
