La Belle Toile Gallery welcomes the painter Régine Hermann for an exhibition entitled “What is your universe?
My artistic experience began at the age of 14, on the school benches of Conthey in Valais by an unforgettable meeting with the artist and professor Santiago Arolas.
His teachings and his original works were engraved in my mind and the click was made…
Since 1994, I have trained in different techniques (silk, pastel, watercolor, charcoal, encaustic, mixed media, acrylic and oil) with artists from different countries and backgrounds.
Member of Art Conthey for 20 years, including 10 years spent on the organizing committee of its collective exhibitions, I decided to leave the group synergy to continue alone, which led me to train in psychology, energy therapies and then in pedagogy of centered drawing.
For my new exhibition, my attention was focused on another perception of reality, taking me on a journey into the abstract. My taste for novelty has led me to introduce materials such as bitumen, wax, paper or sand in order to give my canvas different textures.
I particularly appreciate the contrasts of light that bitumen allows. It reminds me of the earth. The energy that emanates from it, dark and deep, illuminates the color in a harmony that can be observed in nature.
