The Louis Moret Foundation presents Hybrid Shapes, an extraordinary project by Valais artist Maria Ceppi (*1963).
About fifteen new monumental sculptures are brought together in a striking and quasi-installative form in the Foundation’s interior and exterior spaces.
Inspired by everyday objects enlarged and freely combined by the artist, the works are presented as hybrid forms. They question the conceptual and visual limits between the fields of nature and culture.
The realization of this group of works, whose material execution was assured by the Kunstgiesserei of St. Gallen, benefited from a decisive impulse of the Art Pro program of the State of Valais. The Louis Moret Foundation thus highlights a new stage in Maria Ceppi’s already fruitful career.
The exhibition is curated by the art historian Pascal Ruedin.
